It's no secret that Lael Wilcox is one of the absolute best cyclists the world has ever seen. It should also not be a surprise that she has some great ideas.

In 2017, Lael rode over 4500 miles of roads in Alaska, her home state. In 2020, Lael and her girlfriend Rue went back to document the trip in the form of an awesome film "Lael Rides Alaska".

The scholarship was designed to let any women (including trans, femme, and non-binary) of any experience level or age design their own 1000 mile bikepacking route through Alaska.

The winner receives a Specialized Diverge bicycle, Revelate Designs bikepacking bags, PEARL iZUMi apparel, a premium subscription to Komoot, Easton wheels, a Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM GPS, Big Agnes camping equipment, Rene Herse tires, a year subscription to Bicycle Quarterly, Trail Butter, and a $1,500 travel stipend provided by Easton.
